Devlog #3 - 2: Interfaces and Bullets
The word of the developers:
Since the last devlog we only focused on certain specific and small details to present our new game demo. Therefore this week there are not so many changes compared to the last time.
Remembering:
Last time we presented the victory conditions and scoring system for the game. Where we saw how the score now worked when hitting or missing musical notes, as well as when killing enemies, so this week we will work from there.
The new:
As we said before, there is not much new, but it was necessary to add on this occasion a pause menu and a main menu, this in order to improve the user's gaming experience, so that when opening our game they can choose what to do, and Within the game you can pause it at any time so that you do not have the pressure of continuing without stopping or even restarting the level, so here we show it with images.
The main menu looks like this:
While the pause menu looks like this:
Those have been the most significant changes regarding the way of seeing the game.
However, something important that was added in this update was the player's shots, since we previously said that these would improve depending on whether the player was correctly hitting the musical notes or not, and now we implemented it and it looks like this:
The double bullet:
It can be seen that when the multiplier is at "x2", the player will shoot a double bullet, something similar when it is at "x3" when he will shoot a triple bullet:
Those were all the changes this week.
What is left for us to do?
We have to continue improving our game, for example, it would be important to make the interface designs more beautiful, but that is secondary because what is important is its functionality in the initial stages of creating a game.
On the other hand, we have to continue improving in creating levels, and our idea is for there to be 3 in total for now, or maybe more, but it depends on our time as well.
Thank you very much for reading and we look forward to your recommendations and comments.
